Our Vision for Illinois Healthcare Students

Every student in Illinois should have the chance to discover healthcare before choosing it — with mentors, hands-on training, and a community that expects them to lead. A stronger, better prepared, more compassionate health workforce starts in a high school classroom.

What We Stand For

What Drives Us Forward

01

Learn

Classroom knowledge turns into clinical skill through hands-on training, workshops, and competitive events.

02

Lead

Members run chapters, mentor peers, and represent Illinois at regional, state, and international levels.

03

Serve

Chapters answer real community needs — health fairs, drives, education, and advocacy across the state.

04

Innovate

From biotechnology to public health, students explore emerging fields shaping tomorrow's care.

How It Works

A Classroom, Career, and Leadership Engine

Illinois HOSA is not one program — it's a system. Advisors bring curriculum to life, industry partners open doors, and students carry the work into their communities.

Why Illinois Needs HOSA

Illinois faces a growing shortage of nurses, technicians, and primary care providers, and the need is sharpest in the communities our members call home. HOSA builds that pipeline early — introducing students to careers they may never have seen, and giving them the confidence to pursue them.

Every chapter we charter puts more prepared, service-minded students on the path to caring for their neighbors.
